Where can I check this system Goon?
Now you got me watching dumbass. Ranger goon175 is his proper name to non-vets. This is the 2nd time I see you have not bothered to read any FAQ's on this site - best to start now before you make a third post. It is not up to you to shorten anyone's name to a name of your choosing dumbass. Do not respond to me here.

A recruiting station.

I have a question for you guys, I went threw MEPS and an option 40 contract is available. I just am waiting on the security clearance.... i was aware that this process isnt very long b/c its not a high level clearance (correct me if I am wrong) It has been 3 days now, how do I go about speeding this up.

Find out who the commander of the unit you're going to is and write him a letter asking him to expedite.
Make sure to let him know you're still a civilian going through the security screening process for a Secret clearance and that you're planning to come to his unit in the next 6-8 months. They usually funnel those requests through the personnel department, but should be able to hook you up.

Good luck.

Ranger goon175, may I ask what you're able to do to get you're soldiers slots? Do you personally inform the Ranger liason about the guys looking for OPT 40s and would I be able to get my recruiter to do the same?

Thank you

I tell them that they need to blow everyone else away so that the Ranger Liason finds them. That usually works.

If not, then yeah, I just call down there and let them know about the exceptional soldier who wants an opt. 40 and they do the rest.

Ranger goon175, Awesome, I'll inform my recruiter about this process. I appreciate the reply.

I wasn't aware there was a counselor at MEPS trying to help us recruits out on the site.Thats incredibly helpful! He says in a post the "best chance for a option 40 is Mid June - Mid July." I think i'll wait until then before I sign an 11x without options, but i'm definitely gonna get in touch with him.

Thanks Ranger Jim!
