If I was to go the enlisted rout...
If I was to go the enlisted rout...
If I was to go the enlisted rout, become a Ranger, serve for a few years, and then do the "green to gold" program, would I be retain my spot in the Rangers? I'm just heavily weighting officer vs enlisted and I know I have a while before I have to choose, but I want to get all the information that I can I right now.
Romans 3:23-25
" 23 all have sinned and are deprived of the glory of God.
24 They are justified freely by his grace through the redemption in Christ Jesus,
25 whom God set forth as an expiation, through faith, by his blood, to prove his righteousness because of the forgiveness of sins previously committed."

Every officer must first serve in the Regular Army I.E. 101st, 82nd ect. before being considered for service in the 75th. For infantry you have to serve as a PL and be a 1LT to submit your packet for ROP. The only individuals that I have known to have served as 2LT PL's in the 75th were SSG and above prior to going through OCS.

something else for you to research is how branch selection occurs in ROTC and OCS. depending on your branch, you may not even be eligible to serve in the Regt.

You will not "retain your spot" in the Regiment. After commissioning you will be branched and assigned like any other new LT. Your odds of eventually being assigned to the Regiment may be better, depending on your branch and the record you achieve for yourself. Overall, the plan of enlisting, serving as a Ranger and then later deciding on the green to gold route is solid.

1. A disorderly retreat or flight following defeat.
2. An overwhelming defeat.
3. A disorderly crowd of people; a mob.
4. People of the lowest class; rabble.
3. A public disturbance; a riot.
4. A company, as of knights or wolves, that are in movement.
So what exactly are you trying to say about enlisted men?

Ninjaman,
You may have noticed that this is not a place for a man with a fragile ego. That said, I had several years enlisted service prior to attending OCS. I competed with everyone who was comissioned the same year I was. Frankly, I had most of the tough jobs and based on my manner of performance, I kept getting promoted and selected for school. I think that the source of comission is less important today, than it once was.
