A quick question. I was wondering if it is possible to secure a 11x/airborne/option 40 when you are only 17 years old. i a have no criminal background and scored an 85 on my asvab so those are not issues. Any help would be appreciated.

So according to your post, my recruiter pretty much lied to me when they said I had to be 18 to qualify for the Option 40? I think I'll have a talk with them about getting this issue resolved, but I'll do so once the Rangers in this forum give be the "go ahead".hit_it wrote:Yes, a 17 year old may contract for Option 40 with any MOS it comes with.
Only 18 year olds may contract for MOS 18X.

Your recruiter may not be lying to you, he may just not know the requirements. Believe it or not, most people don't enlist to become Rangers. That's not an excuse for him, but it doesn't make him a liar.Namechanger wrote:So according to your post, my recruiter pretty much lied to me when they said I had to be 18 to qualify for the Option 40?
