Branched Infantry, How do I prepare 4 Ranger School

Post by m-14.762 »

From what I have heard IOBC is not very tough Ranger School is where the Infantry Officer proves himself.

I still have 9 months to prepare for IOBC and Ranger School. Any help, I want to improve my PT I am only hitting a 280 so that needs to improve.

I was planning to ruck more (any idea on ruck weight?) and try to get use to only sleeping 3 or so hours a night. (the old lady will kill me!) :D

First, fill out your profile.

Then go get some sleep. There's no such thing as training to be tired.

Have everyone you know (mother, father, wife, niece, etc.) yell at you, call you dirty names and smoke the shit out of you all day. Then have your wife cook a huge meal, invite the whole family over, then watch them eat while you dig a hasty in the backyard. Preferably near a tree. With the sprinkler on. Then...oh fuck, just use the goddamn search button.

In order to prepare for Ranger school...I suggest you do the following things:

1. Sleep as much as possible
2. Eat as much chow as your belly can hold (at every meal)
3. Hit yourself in the face with a brick every fifteen minutes!

Negative. In front of his platoon is where the Infantry Officer proves himself. Ranger School is just another stepping stone. Keep your eye on the right ball, or else you'll be out of the game.

Try stepping in front of a PLT with out a Tab......

Ranger Puck, Is it still the same where a Infantry Officer with out a tab can not have a command? When I was in Korea there was a 2lt that apparently failed Ranger School 3 times. He was in the S-4 shop. One officer told me that he was going to stay there and never get a platoon because he didn't have a tab. Is that still the case for Infantry Officers?
It's all good.

Depends on the Command. But by in large, Yep, that would be the case. At least in my limited experiance.

Yeah, the 5 INFANTRYMEN from near my hometown here, 28th INFANTRY Div, PA NG, who just died in their Bradley from an IED died in that special, kinder & gentler war they set aside for weekend warriors only.
We've only lost one war. That was the one set aside for the professionals, where the NG was specifically not invited.

Whoa, it was just some ball busting. Sorry for their loss. If my qoute offended you, I'm sorry. But it doesn't change what I wrote.
