In Honor of MAJ John Whyte

Post by Ranger »

This section, information about Ranger School, is dedicated to the memory of Major John Whyte who joined ArmyRanger.com on March 4, 2005 as 'BattleBoar' and departed on April 17, 2005 in a tragic accident. Major Whyte served as a Ranger-qualified infantryman and company commander in the 3rd Infantry Division during the initial assault on Iraq in 2003 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Although his time spent as a member of ArmyRanger.com was short, his professionalism in addressing a wide range of issues discussed on the site and in mentoring young soldiers was evident to everyone he interacted with. In addition to ArmyRanger.com, Major Whyte also participated in the CompanyCommand.com online community, where an article, 'The Leadership Legacy of John Whyte', was authored using the many contributions he made there.

We appreciate your contributions here Sir. The example you set for others, both here and in service to our nation, will always be remembered.

May you rest in peace.
