Hello!
My name is Dylan and I'm a 17 y/o senior in highschool. This recent september I enlisted into the army with an 11x option 40 contract. I am currently in the first weeks of wrestling season, and aim to train very intensely come the season's end (early feb). I am currently 6'1" and 153lbs, with >10% body fat. I have yet to gather up to date pt scores, but i know that my pushups are around 60-65 in 2 min, and my situps are somewhere around 70, with a 13:30ish 2 mile and a 39:?? 5 mile run. I aim to be able to crush the pt test by my ship out date (July 21, 2020), and will train with that goal in mind. I would love any tips that could be given, and if there is anyone around the aarea of the WV eastern panhandle (around Jefferson / Berkeley counties) who would be open to train with me or administer hard workouts, it would be great to link up at some point!
Thanks
Dylan

Dylan,
Welcome to the site. Check out the new areas you have access to and look into applying yourself to those. While PT will do wonders to put you ahead of your peers when you join, much of the information in the mentoring zone has the potential to set you up for success for RASP.
Why do you want to join the military? What are you goals for when you get in? Why did you pick infantry?
Please administer a APFT with chinups if you can and report your scores. You'd be surprised at what you "should" be able to do compared to what you actually do when you run them together.

Re: Introduction- Sniggle0788
Ranger Disinfertention,
Thanks for your interest! I have wanted to be in the military for a long time, and the high energy environment of Ranger battalion just seemed like an excellent fit. I am also driven by desire to serve the US. My goal for when I get into Ranger battalion will be, initially, to get used to the high stress schedule of a training Ranger. I chose infantry simply because I enjoy hard physical labor and want to do "cool-guy" stuff.
I will make sure to post updates on my APFT scores.
Thanks,
Dylan
