Introduction- Parker

Post by Mattspar18 »

Hello Rangers,

My name is Parker and I have an 11x option 40 with a March 5 ship date.

I am a current sophomore at the University of Washington. I was awarded an Army ROTC scholarship in high school and have done that in college to this point. However, I didn't think becoming an officer was the best path for me and I really want to do something different and began looking into the Regiment this past summer, then pulled the trigger on the option 40 when it comes up. I'm hoping to gain some insight into RASP/life in the regiment as well as mentorship through this site

My most recent APFT (about 2 months ago) scores were
87 push ups
88 sit ups
12:46 2 mile

Thank you

Hey Parker,

Welcome to ArmyRanger.com. Please check your PMs and get back to me when you can.

Since you've been lurking for about a month I'm sure you realize there is a lot of information on the site. Please use the search feature and check a search engine. Asking an informed question is better than repeating one answered multiple times.

What MOS did you choose and why? Why do you think enlisted is a better path over officer? Do you have family in the military (past/present) that shaped the decision? Are you finishing your second year of school before shipping out?

Your APFT score looks pretty solid. Make sure you add chin-ups next time and when weather/time permits execute a 5 mile run for time. A lot of our OPT 40's try to ruck before they go so the first time they experience it isn't in OSUT.
