Intro JereH

Post by JereH »

Hello Rangers, my name is Jeremiah and I am a senior from Jacksonville NC. I am sworn into DEPs with an 11x contract. Sadly, I could not get an option 40 due to medical waiver because my eyes were just barely below the limit. I am however determined to get myself one in basic training. I ship out July 3rd and have been training myself since September. My current APFT is around a 290 with my run time being my weak point at 13:40. I look forward to responses from the Rangers and SOF on this site as I know you do an amazing job of helping mentees.

Hey Jeremiah, welcome to ArmyRanger.com.

This site has a fair amount of information on it to help you hopefully volunteer in basic to go to RASP but it may be a bit of a crap shoot. Please reply back with your specific APFT numbers. Also when able run a 5 mile for time, if you can. Chin ups are also part of a typical Ranger style APFT.

If you are serious about trying to volunteer for the 75th being here is a good start. Even if for some reason you do not get the chance to there is a path back after OSUT. You just gotta keep after it.

Thanks Rangers, my 5 mile is 37:05 and my specific numbers are 75 push-ups, 80 sit-ups, a 13:40 2 mile, and 17 chin ups. I’m in pretty good shape but I have around 120 days till I ship out so I can still get better and increase my chances.

I read the post on the OSUT forums talking about the chances of getting RASP, and I’m pretty excited hopefully I get my chance

Jeremiah,

Great scores. How old was the post you read? I am pretty confident that the recruiters will come brief you guys and try to offer contracts. Make sure you watch out for it.

Also, I sent you a PM. Please reply to it when you can.

Ranger Disinfertention,

I dont know I think it was from around 2010, it was stickied to the top of the OSUT forums. Also, I responded to the PM

I'm sure it is still valid. The Regiment has recruiters at many locations... Benning and infantry OSUT is probably the easiest one for them to get to considering they are right there.
