Hello Rangers!

I'm 16 years old, currently in my last year of high school, and I enjoy cycling and rucking along the beautiful hills of my region.

My wish to join the 75th Ranger Regiment has prompted me to create an account on this website, so I can learn more about the Regiment and increase my chances of making my way there.


Here are my PT scores from yesterday :

Push-ups : 40
Sit-ups : 51
2-mi run : 17:40
-> 149/300

In the beggining of January, I'll make another test so we can see if I've gotten any better.

Alexander, please tell us more about yourself; where are you living? what should we know about you?

Ranger Jim,

I live in France.

I listen to all kinds of music, but if I could only listen to a single artist it would be DJ Shadow. Wax Tailor is a close second though.

I enjoy learning about history and other countries. This place is a goldmine : https://fieldsupport.lingnet.org/

I also read books from time to time. Violence of Action was excellent, Ranger Roy Matthews's depiction of the fighting that went on around Haditha Dam especially.

A few months back I joined a gym. We do a lot of different things (bodyweight exercises, cardio, boxing...), and it's really centered on sharing, nobody stays in their own corner to work out, and you get to learn from people who have tons of experience in their craft.

I also started doing rucks (baby-rucks) last summer, at least once a week. There is nothing like it. A friend of mine wants to join the Gendarmerie (a French military branch mainly focused on police work in rural areas), so we'll start hiking together in the near future.

Ranger Jim,

The 75th Ranger Regiment's rich history, along with its proven efficiency in recent years both appeal to me.

But what makes me want to join the most is the opportunity to be among men who truly are volunteers, who never quit and keep going, just to stay a part of their Ranger brotherhood.
Where else in the world do people work so hard, not to earn their monthly income, but simply to stay in the team in which they perform their job?
