Ranger Jim,

The "test" I meant was the PT test. I wanted to give a deadline to hold myself accountable for. The year is incorrect.

I will attempt to have it completed by next Tuesday.

I am going to try and implement this training guide into my lifestyle. I am not feeling great about my progress thus far and felt it was time to use something more structured.

Also I am wondering about how one would practice map and nav skills? I am not to bad in the woods, but expect that what I think I know will get crammed down throat. I found that there are recommended books to help, but how did some people practice? I am going to use the search bar to find the info through here that is available also, but in case anyone had something not listed I was curious.

Ranger Jim thank you for the encouragement.

The above post was for all Rangers with any input. I should have addressed you all as such.

Thank you.

20151124 Pt Test FAILED

Push = 37
Sit = 47
2 Mile = 18:11
Pullups = 3

131 Total. I am not sure about the run time as I tried a new track and it got dark before I got finished. Also I am attempting to wear myself out before PT tests to try and simulate RASP. I understand it is part of the process. Still no excuse for my scores. Will get back to work and thank you for your time.

While this is true of RASP, you need to take in to account that you will have 14 weeks of AIT and 3 weeks of Airborne (or more) where you will be working on your physical conditioning. You would be better suited on concentrating on building your physical endurance before trying to simulate RASP. Which won't do you any good because you still won't be ready.

Roger RangerX.

I am hoping to start using Ranger Silverback's post on push-ups as my upper body feels as though it has gotten worse instead of better. I admit however, I am not very good at putting together a routine. I am hoping it will increase my endurance.

I will go back to just doing the test instead of trying to run a simulation.

Thank you for your input.

Rangers,

I took my 1-1-1 for my recruitment office this past Tuesday. The SFC in charge of FSO only asked me to complete 20 pushups and situps, but on my one mile I have gotten my time down to 5:35. I am pretty happy with my improvement but still got a ton more work obviously. Just wanted to update you all on my running progress.

I have also been reading a few books and recently have began reciting the Ranger Creed every morning in order to help me learn it along with the history in the books I have acquired.

Thank you all again for you time.

Rangers,

Just a brief update. I am currently finishing my degree which I should have by the end of April. I am still signed up and healthy, ready to leave in August. I have been trying to just get better with my endurance and school studies.

I usually check in once or twice a week to read up on posts or to ensure that no one has commented with something needing a reply. I believe my future soldier orientation will be doing a PT test this weekend so I will post the scores once we receive them. If for some reason they do not test me, I will self administer.

Thank you for your time once again.

PU = 35
Su = 45
2 Mile = 14:36
Pullups = 2

Total +/- 175

Still failing but it is due to my lack of discipline and training over the last two months. I recently began my training regiment again and have reincorporated my ruck marching also with 45lbs dry weight. I will attempt another PT test within three weeks to show improvement. Date deadline is 20160320 for updated PT test.

Thank you all for your time.

35 lb in your ruck is sufficient for now. Never, never quit

Rangers,

Missed my deadline for my new PT test but wanted to check in and assure you I will handle that this week. No excuse.

Thank you all.
