Introduction: Cuong

Post by Cuong »

Hello Rangers and members,

My name is Cuong, I am 20 year old. I am from Mobile, Alabama. I graduated back in 2012, spent two years in college. Throughout high school, I always wanted to join the military but did not know which branch. So, I did two years at a community college, it was fine, but I always wonder what I would do if I enlisted right after high school. During my first year of college, I still had the military on my mind and made plans after I finish with community college to join . After two years of school, I'm planning to join the Army and try to get a shot at RASP.

I am glad, I waited after community college. I did not had any thoughts about becoming Ranger during high school. I learned about Rangers from a gentleman who was a customer at work and he gave me a little information about it. I did not made plans(but was on my mind) until I met an SF from Vietnam War, both told me, it's hard but achievable if you really want it bad; and very beneficial in life. I'm hoping to get much information from Rangers on this forum as possible. I planning to contact recruiters and try to get a 11x Op40 contact.

Thank you, Cuong.

Welcome. What did you study in college? Did you complete your degree?

Hello Ranger Grim666,

I'm majoring in Nursing, and I did not finish my degree. I just took two years of general classes (Math, Anatomy and Physiology, English 101& 102) but did not touch nursing program classes. I'm planning to finish nursing after my four years and get a B.A to commission.

If you are in a Nursing program, consider 68W Option 40. This link may be helpful. Never, never quit!

Hello Ranger Jim,

Thank you for the link! I did considered 68W at the beginning. It will fit perfectly with what I will learn in school and be ahead of the other students. I would be happy if it's available, if not I would still love the 11x route.

Don't be too quick to dismiss the 68W option. If I had it all over I would have gone the medic route for sure.

When you talk to your recruiter, ensure that he explains the training that goes with 68W Option 40. It is extensive! In the meantime spend some time reading the letters from school thread. Never, never quit!

Cuong,

If you are really interested in the 68W route, read the thread from Bloody Limey After Action Review SOCM. Once you complete that, let me know if you have any questions. If you do you can PM me and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

Welcome motherfucker, I'll go out on a limb and say we truly hope you are as sincere about your desire to become a United States Army Ranger as you claim you are. Time will tell, in the meantime knock out 50 pushups, use the search button to find out how to prepare. Do what others have done to prepare and then do more of what was done before and guess what....

You just might make it, but you'll never know if you've got what it takes if you don't try. So how about it Cuong, do you really have The Right Stuff?
