Introduction - James
Hello, Rangers. I am James, an 18 year old college student. I was at a part in my life where I do not know what I want to do when I am finished with school, so naturally, I decided to check out military options. The only one job that really called out to me was to be a Ranger, like my father was. I have a few years of college money left, but if I am going to make the next step of becoming a Ranger, I thought it would be best to surround myself with those who have succeeded. I am here to learn the culture, what I have to do to achieve my goal, and so on. I enjoy reading immensely, and plan on devouring the literature. I am however, physically weak. I have never gone for a run or been to the gym, but I weigh less than 130lbs. So that starts now, while I have time. I currently do work full time and do school full time, and I don't have access to many resources, so I will need to adapt in that regard. I would appreciate any guidance and advice I could glean from you Rangers along the path on my journey, so that when the time comes for me to truly be tested, that I can draw on it. Thank you for reading.

Re: Introduction - James
Thank you for welcoming me, Ranger Jim. I am from Florida, and I have lived here my entire life, and I've never left the east coast of the United States. I am not entirely sure where he served but I know it was in the late 80s to early 90s. I've never asked him about it. I've scrolled through some threads, and this website is a great resource, and it's pretty funny sometimes. PT test sounds good to me. Lets do it.Jim wrote:Welcome James. Welcome here & tell your father to introduce himself here.
I have 2 items to discuss:
1) get rid of your avatar. It is above your paygrade.
2) are you using your real last name as your site name? Yes or no, say so.

I think this is a good time to sit down with your father and have a long talk, if you are able to.

1. Will do. I saw no "newts" option available when I looked and I am not DEP so I did not know which to choose.Steadfast wrote:Welcome here & tell your father to introduce himself here.

Ranger Cams, I have household circumstances that wouldn't make that something that I could do soon. I will speak to him if I can, because I would also like to know more myself. Good idea.cams wrote:I think this is a good time to sit down with your father and have a long talk, if you are able to.

Make a list of 4 names (in preferential order) & I will see what is available.
Do not select any name you have not earned.
An aside note, take an avatar from DEP's gallery.

Re: Introduction - James
Rangers, my PFT scores are as follows:
Push Ups: 18
Sit Ups: 50
2 Mile Run: 22:34
I have a lot of room for improvement. These were my first genuine attempts at anything like this. I will continue to improve these. This is an 82. Compared to the numbers that I have seen, this is absolutely unacceptable. I will not stop. Any words or advice are appreciated. I am a stranger when it comes to anything like this.
