Rangers, my apologies, but please disregard my last post about the op. 40 contract. Apparently there was a miscommunication among the recruiters that I am working with, and that specific contract had a ship date of May 19th. One recruiter told me that I could enter DEP, secure a contract, and then ship out when I'm ready, but apparently that's not the case? I'm a bit confused as to how all this stuff works.

Brendan, Don't worry about it. Right now, there is a lot of pressure on the recruiting command to fill a lot of training seats in the next couple months. This gets priority over the more traditional Delayed Entry Program (DEP), which is projected several months out. Never, never quit!

Hello Rangers, I just wanted to give you all an update on my current situation. This past week I got an 11x Op. 40 contract with a January 3rd ship date. I'm headed to Atlanta MEPS next Tuesday so that I can lock it in. Praying that I don't have any unknown deformities that'll disqualify me.

Please confirm when you have taken your oath. Have not seen an 11X Option 40 for a while. Never, never quit!

Ranger Jim, just curious, but are you implying that they could tell me that there are no option 40 contracts available when I get to MEPS? When I was at the recruiter the other day, I signed a temporary reservation for an 11x option 40. Does the reservation mean nothing?

when you execute your oath, it becomes official and legal. The reason I am being so specific is that I have not seen anyone get an 11X option 40 for more than a month. RLTW!

Ranger Jim, sorry for the late reply. My MEPS date got moved to Thursday. I had to stay for two days, but I swore in today with an 11x option 40 contract. I'm now in the DEP program with a ship date of January 15th. My RASP date will probably be in June/July.

Rangers, I am leaving for Alaska on Monday for the salmon season, and will not return until August 5th. I will have no internet or phone coverage while I am there. I will be working for 16+ hours a day, 7 days a week, but I will try my best to maintain my pullups, pushups, and curlups.

Do your best to complete your task-list prior to departing; that way you can complete some of your tasks while you are working. Memorization tasks come to mind. Never, never quit!
