Introduction: Evan
Hello everyone,
My name is Evan, I am in 9th grade and I live in Brockport, New York. I have grown up with the outdoors and firearms, and have always wanted to eventually join the military. I'm actually graduating high school in 11th grade, and am going to try to get a 11x option 40 contract at 17. The only thing that is holding me back is my weight. There hasn't been a time in my life when I have not been overweight, and that is just terrible. Lately I have been changing my life around and have been dieting and working out successfully. I want to becoming a Army Ranger, and will do everything i possibly can to make my dream a reality.
Thank you Rangers for allowing me to join your forum.

Re: Introduction: Evan
I am sorry Ranger gRavepc, I should have addressed you as a Ranger before your username. I'm also sorry to Ranger RangerX and everyone else for being disrespectful. It will not happen again.

Re: Introduction: Evan
Ranger RangerX I will complete them at 2:05 when my school gets out , thank you for accepting my apology.
Re: Introduction: Evan
No need to be sorry or keep apologizing young man, these are what we call 'spot corrections' made to keep you from heading down the wrong path as you learn.
As was stated you need to start running your ass off everyday. Rangers physical standards are right next to Olympic athletes in endurance ability.
Work as hard as you can, then work harder than that. Read everything you can here on the site.
Good luck and welcome to ArmyRanger.com.

Re: Introduction: Evan
Thank you Ranger cams for welcoming me. I plan on doing a mock PFT tomorrow to see were I am at. I will post my numbers (as bad as they might be)
Re: Introduction: Evan
Don't worry about having low scores right now, we all started out the same way at your age and worked our way up as well. Just be honest with yourself and with your grading of the APFT as that will give you a good idea where you stand and also give you a starting point to improve from.
Make sure you read through the Physical Fitness forum here, lots of good info and reports from other young men that were exactly where you are now and are now proudly serving with the Regiment.

Re: Introduction: Evan
Welcome to the site Evan, make sure that any PT evaluations you do are done honestly. If you are honest with yourself and with the Rangers on this site then I can promise you that you will receive the advice and help that you need to bring yourself up to Ranger standards. Remember, it's up to us to give the advice, it's up to you to follow that advice. Only you know if you are giving everything you have toward your goal of becoming a Ranger. You will only meet those goals if you give it your all, a Ranger doesn't slack. Give it everything you've got, every time you give and never, ever quit! RLTW

Re: Introduction: Evan
So these are the worst scores you guys have probably ever seen....
Push ups 1 minute ( I dropped to a knee to rest, so all after didn't count) : 30
Sit ups 2 mins: 82 ( hands behind head and up to my knees)
Pull ups : 0 (I need to Change this a lot)
2 mile run : 24:50 ( I honestly feel I could have gotten lower)
I'm pretty angry about my crappy score.

OK, Evan, you now have a PT baseline to build on. Post your PT scores on this thread so you can measure your progress. Never, never quit!HopeFull wrote:So these are the worst scores you guys have probably ever seen....
