Intro - Tocker

Post by Tocker »

Hello, my name is Tocker I am 17 years old, and I just graduated from high school. I am currently working at a hardware store doing mostly manual labor.

I enlisted in the Navy 3 weeks after my 17th birthday back in August of 2013. I was a future sailor working to get an EOD contract for about 8 months. After passing my PST, I was told I would not be able to get the contract by the time my original ship date (July 15th, 2014) as a damage controlman. So, I told them I didn't want to go, was processed out, and finally got cleared with the Army last week. I went down to MEPS and signed my 11x op. 40 contract. My ship date is October 20th, 2014.

I am looking forward to gaining knowledge from all the prior and current Rangers on this forum.

Current PT scores:

Push-ups: 72
Sit-ups: 78
Pull-ups: 14
2-mile run: 12:24

Thank you.

Lunch wrote:Welcome. Changing from a Navy contract to Army Option 40 was quite a shift. Why go this route when the Navy was your first choice?

As you get settled in, be certain to take time to read what's already available to you and digest it.
I wanted to join the Navy because they have the best EOD program. After taking to my recruiters and thinking about it for awhile I decided to try my luck with the 75th Ranger Regiment and maybe later on down my career, try out for EOD.

Looks like you have established a decent PT baseline. Continue to improve and never, never quit!
