Roger. Carry on, but do it smartly young man. You have an absolute gold mine of information and real world experienced Rangers here to learn from. Don't squander this opportunity.

Bronco, thank you, again. Your efforts do not go unnoticed and are greatly appreciated. You're doing very well here.

Ranger Cams or Ranger Jim (or any ranger reading this) I did some research and I now know I need to get an 11x , but when I research Option 40 it gives me the basic details like it gives ypu the chance to go to airborne school and is the only direct way to the Regiment. Could any of you please help me get a better understanding of how I get said contract and what's in store with it? Thank you all for helping me on my journey and your help in it.

I tried to Ranger Jim, he said he wasn't going to waste his time explaining things to a "Kid" he told me to come back in a year or two.

WTF, have you talked to a recruiter? Where? That response is a no-go-tell us who he is.

Jacob, the recruiter should have been way more professional. Most would be willing to answer a few questions. Anyway to answer your question, Option 40 is an enlistment option that is available (provided you're qualified) , it can be added to your enlistment contract, It is offered with several MOSs not just 11X. Option 40 will guarantee you your MOS, airborne school, and the chance to attend RASP. You have to pass RASP and get selected to be assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment.
To qualify you need to be at least a hs senior, 17 years old (with your parents permission), take the asvab and have at least a GT score of 107, pass the physical, qualify for airborne school, and not have any serious criminal misconducts. Your enlistment contract will be for at least 4 years and 19 weeks.
Hope that answers some questions.

Thank you PerryB. That was the best answer I've seen so far. I'm going to try and see if there are any other recruiters in the Clermont area to talk with in person.

You are an hour and a half from me. You get your option 40 and stop showing your ass on here and maybe we can work something out. I do not want a reply or pm until you have completed these two tasks. Further, you had better have all tasks squared away and meet the necessary deadlines as they are presented to you.
