Post by Ethan33 »

Hows it going? I am Ethan.

I am 18 and In my Senior year of High School. I am currently Enlisted into the the Army with a 11B MOS and set up to leave June 16 of this year. However I am having issues and this could change.

The reason that I am joining this page is to hopefully find some more advice and deeper knowledge to help me complete my goal of becoming a Ranger.

-Thanks

Ethan, your 72 hours came and went. You were here today, but you did not bother to respond to anyone who greeted you. Please tell me why I should not lock you out and ban you?

My Apologies to the Rangers who responded and welcomed me. I Meant no disrespect at all. I did try to respond, but for some reason did not post. Either I did not hit the Submit button, or something went wrong with my computer. Honest mistake.

Roger Ranger Jim.

More about myself:
I have lived in the Midwest my whole life. Grew up on a farm/ranch until I was about 12, then moved to another small town. I love hunting, fishing, and shooting/collecting guns. I played Hockey ( wing position ) and Football ( Fullback/Linebacker position ), love the contact, aggression, and the challenge that comes with both the sports.

I have wanted to join the Army ever since I was a little kid. I first started to want to be a Ranger when I first saw the movie "Black Hawk Down" when I was about 11 or 12 years old. Ever since then It is all I have wanted to do.

PT Score ( as of two weeks ago )
2 min Push Ups- 70
2 min Sit ups- 78
2 mile run- 13:45

Ranger Steadfast, I do not currently have an Option 40. I enlisted last summer , before my senior year, and made the mistake of signing up without getting what I wanted. I have been kicking myself in the nuts ever since. About five days ago, I told my recruiter that I was REALLY REALLY wanting to get an Opt 40. And that I would do whatever I had to to get it. He said he was going to make some calls and see what he could do. No news yet though. I will call him on Monday to see if he has anything. I will not ship until I have Rangers guaranteed in my contract.

Ethan, bug the shit out of your recruiter about getting a Option 40 slot or at the very least an option 4 slot. He has had almost a year to square you away. All it takes is a email or phone call the the meps counselor. I do it all the time for the kids here in my area. Never quit and let me know if you run into any issues.
