Introduction: Brian

Post by Bill »

Hi, my name is Brian, I'm 31 years old, and have been a career firefighter for the last nine years.

I have taken the ASVAB and scored well. I will be going to MEPS for my medical clearance in March after my PRK surgery is finished healing. I hope to enlist with as a Medic (as I have much experience in this field and believe I could be of some use), but I am also interested in Combat Engineer and Infantry. Thank you all for your service and I look forward to learning as much as I can.

PST Scores:

Push Ups: 76
Sit Ups: 72
Pull Ups: 8
2 Mile Run: 12:47
5 Mile Run: 39:15

Welcome, Brian. A man has only one opportunity to make a favorable initial impression. So far, you are doing OK. If you truly want to earn a place in the 75th Ranger Regiment, you came to the right site. We at armyranger.com take a great deal of pride in the young men who pass through here on their life journey. A number of our Rangers are medics,, but I must advise that Ranger Medics undergo the same training as SF medics. Please look on the letters from school for the 68W training experiences and opportunities. Your PT scores leave room for improvement. Most of the questions you might have can be addressed by using the search feature, located on the top right of this page. Please read the FAQs, as well as select stickies and threads. Never, never quit!

Welcome, brother. Being a career FF myself, I can tell you the similarities of the two jobs are uncanny. Just prep yourself well, keep the right mindset, and you will do fine no matter what MOS you choose.

PM inbound.

Ranger Jim; Ranger CharlieRanger1FFV; Broncho; Ranger SleepyDoc; Ranger Grim666; Ranger Rangertough:

Thank you so much for the warm welcome.

Ranger Jim - You are correct. My PST scores do need work and I am currently working to get them higher. I will continue to work on them with a goal of 90+ PU/SU and 18+ pull ups, 12 min run.

Thank you for the PM's as well. I have found a ton of information on this site and from the Rangers.

Respectfully

B
