Introduction

Post by dlien223 »

Hello my name is Daniel, first off thank you for letting me have access to this site and all this information. Secondly my avatar is from the DEP because there was no NEWTS category from the drop down menu. I am currently in the process of enlisting, I am waiting for my physical. I am hoping to get an 11x contract with airborne added as well. My GT score was 104 so I am not able to get an option 40 but I was told I can take a FAST class to increase my score after OSUT and airborne, as soon as that's done I will be requesting, if able to, to be sent to RASP. Thanks for all the access to this great info.

Yeah, it might take going to a plain vanilla unit for a bit and taking the FAST class. but anything worth doing is going to throw all the hurdles it can muster at you. The question is; how will you deal with such setbacks? There are always options, always

Good luck with it

Ranger Sleepy Doc, you mentioned there are always options. Is there another path I overlooked besides the FAST class?

Yes Ranger Jim. I am open to all options and the GT waiver was one I didn't know about.

You could wait two years, get some college, work on that run time, and then take the ASVAB again. If you take it more than once, the highest score counts. You could say, "Fuck it!..." and not enlist. You could enlist, say "fuck it", and stay in whatever job they give you.

Some options you might like more than others, some not at all.. but there are always alternatives.
