Introduction - Drew

Post by Campo »

Hello Rangers, my name is Drew. I'm 17, from Connecticut. I'm going into my last year of high-school after the summer and I'll be graduating early in January. I've grown up in a military family; my father was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy, my uncle was in the 82nd Airborne, and my brother has recently just graduated from the Air force bmt. Serving in the Army has been a dream of mine since I was receiving letters from my uncle while he was in Iraq back in 2003 - 2004. It wasn't until recently that I learned about the Rangers and decided I would give all I got to try to become a member of them.

Roughly about 2 weeks ago I swore in and officially enlisted with an 11x Contract with Option 40. I'm scheduled to ship out to basic on February 19th. Seven months, while I wish it was sooner, is not much time at all and I am spending all the time I have busting my ass trying to prepare for what lies ahead.

The information I have received from this site has been extraordinarily helpful and has answered numerous questions I have had. I greatly appreciate any further tips or advice you Rangers can provide me with.

Thank you all for your service and for providing this site.

OK, so now you have a baseline to build on. Two tasks to start working on now: a) begin to memorize the Ranger Creed, and b) add pull-ups to your exercise tasks. Never, never quit!

Welcome to the site. Seven months will go by in a blink. Your best bet is to ask those who have recently completed RASP what would be the most prudent way to prepare.
