Ranger Buzz, I know there is a no excuse policy here but I feel as if this deserves an explanation. I've been sick since just after my last post, and I was at MEPS for the last two days. It has also been dangerously cold in my area with a lot of snow on the ground which prevents me from conducting an APFT. I should be back in school tomorrow though and will have access to a treadmill and a pull up bar so that I can do my APFT. I should have informed you that my scores wouldn't be posted on time. This won't happen again.

I just got back from MEPS. I signed an 11X contract that ships 20150728. I'm finally in the DEP. I met several recruiters there who were former Rangers, one of which I had a conversation with. He gave me very clear directions on how to get to Airborne and RASP from OSUT.

I will keep you updated, and will have that APFT posted ASAP on Friday.

Did you get an airborne physical? If you can get it completed, it will save you time when you get to OSUT. Never, never quit!

Ranger Jim, I could not get an Airborne physical. Because of the waiver, they wouldn't let me get the physical.

Good, now fix your sig line to the DEP standard.

Continue to learn what you can before you ship, take advantage of any training your Recruiter offers and continue to improve on your PT.

I have noticed that most of the other members who are in the DEP are a part of the "Five Mentees Report Here" thread. as well as being part of the Mentoring Zone. How do I go about becoming a part of this section of the forums? I only ask because I am trying to learn as much as possible prior to shipping, and after searching around, it seems like the Mentoring Zone is full of good information.

Jimming, ensure you read the letters from school. A number of our future soldiers, now Rangers, earned a slot at BAC and RASP during IET. Never, never quit!

I leave for MEPS and to ship out in one week. I wanted to say thank you to all of the members of this website for helping me learn and prepare for the military since I joined over two years ago. I will post a final PT test in the next couple of days when I find time. I am going to start a new thread in the Letters from School section while I'm at MEPS, and will do my best to keep you all updated on my progress.
