I'm currently in the enlistment process to join the army. I'm really only interested in becoming a ranger but today my recruiter listed the jobs available and none of them had an option 40 contract. He said he can't see all the jobs available so I was wondering if anyone knows if there are 11x option 40 contracts available right now. He wants me to pick a job tomorrow and he said he can call his superior and get me 11x but he doesn't know if option 40 will be available. He said he can either get me an 11x contract and I might get lucky and option 40 is available or he can request any option 40 available. Any advice would be extremely helpful.

Welcome Scott. Remember, you're talking about your future and what you want to do with it. If you want Ranger, then hold out for it. It may take a while, but believe me, it will be worth it. Be respectful but firm with your recruiter. Make sure he understands your goal is option 40 or nothing. Give everything you've got, every time you give and never, ever quit! RLTW
