I'm surprised they even issue a statement for anything less than 2 feet in that neck of the woods.

Snow flurries here the other day in the vicinity of West Point. That usually indicates you guys have about 5 feet by now. Must be global warming.

It's still like 75 degrees everyday here in Afghanistan. It's "chilly" in the mornings but during the day it's sunny and ball sweating warm. Where's the bitter cold and snow and all that shit? It rained for 2 minutes a week after I got here and it was like mana from heaven.

be safe over there............. and enjoy the weather

Cold means "permafrost" (not really permafrost but every little bit helps) which means harder to bury IED's and too cold for the fuckers to care about digging at night. I went on a patrol yesterday in a Buffalo and felt fairly secure (it weighs more than a Stryker) until we almost had to put it in a ditch (rollover, rollover, rollover! Thank you for hitting me in the face Mr. Ammo can.) Thanks for the thoughts brother.

Well don't forget that Kabul shares the same latitude as Baqubah and dare I say Lumberton NC. It's obviously the mountains/altitude that make the difference.

Stay safe and tame that damn Buffalo.... :|

So are you trying to say that Lumberton is a backwards, third world country, ruled by a tribe with some made up version of reality.

Oops... did I say that out loud?

I'm sitting at my desk having a pomegranite grown by Afghans. I've had the bread (Fing AWESOME), the pom and if I can have a sit down with some locals for tea I'll have experienced all the "good things" Afghanistan is known for.

I have some former lesbian students on my facebook. Not that great. Lots of drama. Lots of veiled threats of suicide or gothiness.

Like everything else, it ain't like in the movies.
