Introduction-Crandog

Post by Crandog »

Hi I am a current 2LT in the National Guard. I am here because I am looking into the possibility of resigning my commission to get a shot at enlisting with an option 40 contract. Thanks

A little more detail. I feel I am not getting out of the Guard what I signed up for. When I joined I was told as an infantry officer I would not only have access to schools but that I would be asked to attend them. Instead my unit is very under funded and has issues sending LTs to IBOLC. If I had known this would have been the case I never would have went through the hassle of AOCS in the first place.

I keep seeing mention of people having resigned their commissions to enlist so I am hoping I can learn some more on this board.

Quite possibly the smartest thing I've ever heard come out of a 2nd LT's mouth. Welcome Sir. Plenty of info here for you to learn from.
