SOT sling

Post by rgrokelley »

I don't know what you young'uns call it now-a-days, but I'm looking for an SOT sling (maybe CQB?) I am rebuilding an M1A into a black gun. So far I have a Troy Stock and some Magpul stock and other parts. I need a sling to go with this.

What do y'all suggest.

On a side note, back when SOT was still in the experimental days, we used to make the sling out of an existing M16 sling and 550 cord running the length of the weapon.

SOT sling

Magpul MS2 sling is what I use for my SWAT rifle. It is designed to transition quickly between single point and traditional. Easy operation with one hand so you can make changes without letting go of fire control. Our whole team uses them now.

I have one of these:

I got it on sale for ~$25.

I have also seen some pretty impressive DIY setups using about $8 worth of buckles and nylon webbing.

Like Ranger X said, "Vickers sling". My buddy Kyle Lamb also has a nice one ("VTAC 2 pt sling"). Free running end with quick relase allows allows rapid loosening, tightening and without a doubt offers the most stable platform possible while moving, stationary, or (in some cases) plastered!

I made myself a sling on my sewing machine using a ruck strap (the slidey half) and some tubular nylon. It is a two point and it is the SHIT! I stole the idea from something I saw on the internet. Total investment? A few minutes time and some stuff I had laying around.
