Post by C-MAC »

The Army has got you covered from head to toe as it prepares to issue helmets that can halt a bullet at point-blank range and new mountain boots for climbing the rugged terrain of Afghanistan.

The ECH is a little thicker, but 1 ounce to 4 ounces lighter, depending on its size.

Does anyone know how much the ACH weights?

RS 4-78

The way I became a Ranger and have earned the small amount of success I have had in life has been mostly due to one quality - determination. Lefty.

Probably as many as the k-pot would have saved over the steel pot, and again the steel pot over the soft cap.

As time passes and technology progresses, this is a question that will constantly come up.

You young'n's have a lot of kit that makes more sense than what we had. Someday when the laser vaporization shield is invented, you'll likely think the same thing.

Just sayin'.

It depends on how hard your head is on Mohs Hardness Scale.

Mine is pretty hard, so I was more interested in the boots. After all, if you can't walk anywhere a helmet is pointless :?
