Im not big on knives but I did have one for a several days that I liked very much.

Gerber 06 Tanto Automatic

Found it in the scrapyard one day at the FOB Im on here in Iraq. Had one of the MITT team medics show me how to sharpen it also, sharpened it up pretty good then lost it the next day riding around in the gator around the fob.

Maybe I'll buy one when I get back stateside...

Just got one of these. Yes that is a good price.

I can't stop playing with the damn thing. The knife fetish I had when in service is back in full effect. I have to say the blade is the sharpest I have ever had from the factory.

Ok Let's not start this again. The last conversation on bacon cost me $50 bucks on the good smoked Tennessee stuff. Next thing you know someone will start talking about Smith and Wolensky and it's all down hill from there. :?

To the thread point, I still have a USAF survival knife. That sucker has been through it all and can still split hairs. Folding? That would be Al Mar SERE, with serrated edge. A little pricey, but worth it.

Im jealous of you rangers with the older Gerber blades, after fiskar took over, Gerber quality went to the crapper. There are some great designs and the tradition is great just execution and materials have gone down the drain.

Love my BM but cant wait to upgrade in steel quality.hate having to hone or sharpen every week or before skinning to keep it razor shaving sharp.
Wish list:

M1 Combative Edge Folder
Zero Tech ZT301
TOPs Alaskan Harpoon

Tryna stop myself from purchasing one of these till after im in. Its hard.

The one I already do, and the one I carried in Iraq in 2003...Randall made Model #1 Fighter. My Dad got it for me before I deployed figuring that I might as well have something of quality and dependability in the event I needed it.
