Introduction

Post by Kyla »

Hi Everyone,
I am a Ranger wife who recently lost her husband in Iraq. Julieanne introduced me to this site when she showed me the kind messages you all left regarding my husband's death. My husband, Damien Ficek, was in 2nd Ranger Batt. though he was part of the WA National Guard while serving in Iraq. He graduated from Ranger School in November of 1998 and served in 2nd Batt. until June of 2000. I am hoping to reconnect through this site with some of his friends who we lost touch with over the years. I know there are stories to be shared and memories to recall that would be of great help to me. It will also be nice to simply read the comments of others who share the values my husband lived by everyday.

Kyla,

It is indeed with open arms you will be welcomed here...

As everyone has said, your husband is and will be greatly missed by each one of us. Though like my Brother Bell said, we don't cry on the outside I can without doubt say that my heart does and it did when I heard the news of your husband. It has affected our community as does the loss of any of our Bretheren.

You indeed will have a home here, a place to laugh, smile, share you worries, shed a tear, reflect or simply raise three kinds of hell. In other words, it's just like "Old Home Week". Feel free to drop me a line if you need anything. My prayers have been sent your way for some time now and certainly you still have them coming...

God Bless,
tacp
