Introduction

Post by MSCguy »

Rangers,

Hello I am a Medical Service Corps officer heading to the 4th ID. I am prior service and was deployed during OIF 2 to western Baghdad in support of the 10th Mtn Div. I was a prior service 92A ( quartermaster) for 6 years. I joined ROTC and commissioned this past May.

Over the past 3 months I have built up an obsession towards attending and successfully completing Ranger School. Everything I have done has had a purpose towards getting myself better prepared for Ranger School. Although I have quite a ways to go I am more than willing to push myself towards accomplishing my goal and going to my first duty station with a Ranger Tab and the leadership developed through the baddest ass school in the US Military.

It took alot of phone and email work and finding the right channels but I will be attending Airborne and Air Assault after BOLC this fall and then PRC and Ranger School in January.

I have read many posts and threads on this forum the last few weeks and continue to study the Ranger Handbook every night. I know that not having an Infantry background will slow me down compared to others if I don't come prepared so I am taking that step towards creating my own luck by preparing myself for the opportunity given to me.

I am scoring over 310 on my APFT and continuing to focus on bringing my run times down to sub 12 2miles and sub 35 5 miles. I know I will get my dick knocked stiff as soon as I step foot in PRC. But I will NOT quit.

Now I'll go knock out 50 for making you suffer through all that!
