Well, you've seen blood and had to function under combat pressure and you still want to be a combat medic. God bless you!
Thank you for choosing one of the most challenging and respected career fields there is. Good and experienced medics are hard to find, and good medics who have what it takes to earn their way into our Regiment are harder to find.
You are in a good place to begin studying the academic side of the SOCOM medic's course. There you will be fed knowledge from a firehose, start broadening your skills as soon as you can, within the scope of your protocols there. Somewhere around here, I gave similar advice to a serving medic and some current Ranger medic(s) chimed in - if you can find that thread, it will serve you well. Anyway, start on the academic studying.
Work on your core body strength and build calluses.
