Hello,
I've been reading the forum for a little while and finally decided to register and post.
I was a FA Surveyor assigned to an AD HHB-that's right, a redleg in an horrible AD unit (I have changed ADA to AD because Air defense has NO place in FA). 82C's lay in the gun bat's in an FA unit. 82C's have NO job in an AD unit. My small section was the 11th Brigade OP-FOR team. I almost felt highspeed; we would get calls in the middle of the night to gear up and hit some unit all the time. Anyway, did an 8 month deployment to SWA and trained the guardforce with 101st and 82nd guys. After that, we went back to OP-FOR, which was always tiring and most of the time fun.
In '99 I got out, went to school, and became an IT dork. Being a civilian is hard. I am just about sick of it, and serously thinking about enlisting again-this time as an 11B. I am a 5-Jumper, so I could probably go to Bragg. It's been 5 years since my discharge, I don't know if I would have to go through Airborne school all over again, or just some remedial training. I should have signed up for RIP while in Airborne school and I would not be typing this right now.
I look forward to posting here,
Out.

AngryCivilian,
Welcome and good luck.
I, at the time of my ETS, could not wait to get out of the Army and now, as I am retirement aged, I wish that I stayed in. I can sympathize with your plight and I wish you all the best.
