Introduction-Bruce

Post by Jewphin44 »

Hello everyone!! My name is Bruce and I enlisted to the Army in December of 2012. I have 11X with the Option 40 in my contract and I am very excited to head to BCT. April 23rd, 2013 is my ship date to Fort Benning for OSUT. I have been studying and looking for answers in the far reaches of the internet, and stumbled upon this gem of a site. I will be posting and asking questions in the near future!! I'm looking forward to learning as much as possible from the Army Rangers on this site.

I've been in Florida for all 20 years of my life. I've wanted to be an Army Ranger since I was 11 or 12. That was when I found out that my Grandpa was an Army Ranger and an Honorary Green Beret. I decided I was going to be a part of the same elite team my Grandpa so proudly served in. Since then, more reasons have piled up, making me want it more than ever. When I was 14, I got a baby brother and I wanted to be the best big brother anyone could ever be. My friends...or so I thought...all keep telling me I'm too weak, mentally and physically to do it. It drives me insane hearing "I can't." I want to be a part of a team that does what other people can't or won't do. I know there are people out there, that want to hurt my friends and family, and destroy my country, and my way of life...and I want to be the one stopping them.

Self administered PT Test results:
PU- 35
SU- 35
2 mile run- 15:03
My father gave me the test. He is former Navy Special Operations so he knew what I needed to do. He told me before I hit front leaning rest position that I was going to be graded on form first, then repetitions. It was a lot of 1, 1, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 6, that didn't count, 6....Glad he did it though. I'm slowly improving the numbers through intense work outs and training. I have been going to my local recruiting stations PT every day they have it, which is usually twice a week. Plyometrics are my main focus. I joined a gym a week ago and have been using that every day. I also looked around this site and found some ridiculous workouts that I am excited to try.
