Introduction - Matt

Post by MattP »

My name is Matt, and I enlisted in the United States Army on September 20th with an 11x Option 40 contract. I've come to this website to receive as much extra guidance as I can before beginning by journey to obtaining the Tan Beret.
I look forward to all of the great advice, I'm sure to receive.

Thank you all for the welcome.

Ranger Jim,
I am 17 years old, and I have been intent on joining the military my entire life due to looking up to my father the way I do. He is currently stationed at Ft. Bragg. Between talking to SEAL recruiters and Army recruiters, and my father with his very strong opinion about choice of branch for service, I ultimately decided that the Army was without a doubt my best option.
I plan on giving as many years as my body will allow to this country.

I'm still in High School, and I am more than on track to graduate.

My main focus at this time is my training in preparation for RASP, and any other challenges I face willing that I am successful in being selected.

My PT scores are as follows.
90 push
80 sit
12:14 2mile

Matt, thanks for your response. You now have a baseline for improving your PT. You did not mention sports, are you involved in HS sports? Never, never quit!
