I saw this on TV. If we make any changes to our current weapon system, we should get all 416 uppers. The M4 works well(although the round needs more kick) and everyone's comfortable with it. There'd be no need to get reaquainted with a new weapon system, all of our attachments would still work, etc.

Now if we could only get them at line units.

Always something to wish for I guess.

The Patriot Ordnance Factory uppers are $1K plus. I was gonna upgrade my AR, but the money doesn't make sense. If the price comes down some, I might. If not, I'll hold out for a 417.

The guys from LW just shot an episode of Future Weapons last week. On hand was Paul Howe, which rocks. I expect their demand to skyrocket the day after the episode airs.

For some perspective:

Larry Vickers helped design and develop the 416. But he carries an LW during courses because he believes its the best AVAILABLE design out there, more or less he says it would be wrong of him to run with something not available to his students.

Darren Mellor of LWRC mentioned them doing a run of rifles to Paul Howe's spec's in the future.

pic's in this thread... (note* the trigger group on the USMC IAR says OBA. Thats Open Bolt Automatic, designed by Jesse of LWRC. Also, yes that is a .308 that homie is carrying, which is supposed to be released this summer)
