Are you positive they were not? The reason I ask is because my husband was an ex ranger at B co 2/75th and he is just recently claiming that he was in Mogadishu and going to VA to get disability for PTSD from the battle of mogadishu. Are you sure that there was nobody from B co. 2/75th rangers at Fort Lewis that went? Also wouldn't he have worn a CIB had he gone? Thanks in Advance

Though I am not a subject matter expert, and may be swerving outside my lane, I have read the books and studied it quiet thoroughly. I'm gonna have to second Ranger xray.

I was the S-1 NCOIC at 2nd Bn during that time and we had no one that I knew of deployed to Mogadishu. Are you sure you have the right Bn?

If you want the absolute no BS answer, PM his name. This place is "central" for those who were there & they have the documentation and access to anyone from TFR who's still on this side of the sod.

I suspect that she is now grappling with the realization that her husband may be a valor thief and liar.

Sorry about that.

I will say this to Ms. Woods: be advised that if I learn that your husband has attempted to bilk the VA out of services or pension compensation, I will prosecute him. Such crimes are felonies. Not misdemeanors.

Tell your husband to tell no lies.

If you are interested in honest answers to honest questions, we would be pleased to assist.

Ms. Woods
Her screename didn't register with me until I read it this way, I remember a new Private that came to Batt named Woods, looked older than most of us, almost like ex-con older, with a ttaoo of a spider or scorpian on his neck? Rough looking dude for a Private.

Don't know whatever happened to him. Would this be the same Ranger ma'am? Tattoo on his neck, scarred up face?

Thank you all for the replies. My laptop broke and I couldn't find this site again for the longest time. My husband was in 2/75th ranger on Fort Lewis and he was in Bravo Company. He had no tattoo on his neck. His name was PFC Woods, Derek. He hung out with a shuman and a guy named Ricks mostly. He is currently claiming to the VA that he was now also shot twice while in Mogadishu so he keeps upping his story to get a higher disability rating. He originally was Med boarded out of the Army in 1996 for a bad back from an ARSOV vehicle accident. I'm currently in the Army and it bothers me seeing him collect disability for something that is untrue when so many veterans have had legitimate combat injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan.
