Re: LEOs be safe out there

Don't forget the shotgun mounted sideways on motorcycle handlebars, hidden inside of a saddle bag that can be pointed at an approaching officer on a simple car stop.

Re: LEOs be safe out there

Damn. That would suck to get whacked with. On a similar note, in a past life I stumbled across an improvised hand grenade disguised as a cigarette pack. Had some homemade explosives, a blasting cap, and some time fuze.

Scary the shit people come up with.

Re: Lewis Millett veteran of three wars -- earned MH

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he desert to the Canadian Army to fight prior to the US entering the war in WW2? I recall that from somewhere, but I can't recall where. And in this context, desert is a strong word, but I don't think it really applies to someone who leaves a non fighting organiza...

Re: Medals policy overhaul includes new 'C' device for combat

They could just stop reinventing the wheel. If they want soldiers tested in basic soldier skills, have everyone do EIB testing. They want medical testing? EFMB already exists. When the test is complete, grunts get an EIB, medics get the EFMB everyone else gets some blisters and goes back to there de...

Re: Today in Ranger history

Today marks the unofficial start of the second gulf war. President GWB ordered the launch of the decapitation strike and all assembled units left out of the staging camps, headed towards their designated attack positions. Some units crossed the berm earlier, others came later. Hard to believe 14 yea...

She's hot and it's a decent song to boot. Good on her for doing it.

Re: Today in Ranger history

On this date in Ranger History: December 7, 1944: (Snipped for brevity) After a Ranger patrol had reconnoitered the height in the predawn darkness, one company took a position to provide fire support, while the others charged up the slope. Catching the Germans by surprise, the Rangers seized contro...

Re: Gun safes...

My understanding of the electronic locks are that they are drop in replacements for the older dial type locks. Having said that, I would think it would be easy to retro fit a dial tumbler into one but I have never tried that route though. If all else fails, a custom safe maker or locksmith could pro...

Re: Glock

In addition, the above listed parts are all Glock approved/ certified so there would be minimal drama of "unsafe mods" done to the gun if it's ever used in a real life situation .

Re: Glock

I'm throwing these 2 attachments here for the good of the order. Hopefully they show up. The first is a pic of the Glock trigger connectors. From L to R they are the Minus(4.5lb), standard (5.5lb), plus (8.0lb) and then Dot (4.8lb). Per Glock, the Dot connector is for Gen 4 guns only. The rest shoul...

Re: Glock

I'm a big fan of a red dot on my Glock; I know you said you don't want to break the bank but that was the best thing for me when it comes to sight systems. Trijicon HD night sights with the orange front sight were a close second. As far as the gun itself, I would either use one of the beaver tail gr...

Re: Plate carriers

That being the case, then I would look into either Eagle or London Bridge.
I saw a nice write up for the Eagle Aero model, if I ever went back overseas I think I would go that route for coverage.

Otherwise, the LBT 6094 would be second on the list for me.

Re: Plate carriers

What's the intended use? Law enforcement, medical, military, zombies, bump in the night? And are you wanting front and rear plates only, sides, all 4 side plates with backers, etc? If you're looking for a soft armor external vest with plate capability, I've heard Mayflower gear/ Velocity systems LPAA...

Re: Bergdahl Charged With Desertion

His best chance is a Presidential pardon from the current lame duck. Hopefully, that does not happen and the court martial finally proceeds to conclusion.
