Re: Why did/do you serve?

While pursuing a West Point acceptance (having gotten my nominations and my interim GO), I really just wanted to piss off my old man. My father served in the Army for 28 years, served two tours in Nam (and virtually every other shit hole post-Nam), so instead of waiting for the full GO from USMA, I ...

Re: 11B skill identifiers

I should clarify my statement. Can a person be an engineer (Sapper) and an 11b/Sniper at the same time?

11B skill identifiers

On another site I frequent, a person represented themselves as (Active Duty, out of Ft. Carson):

"11B ranger/airborne/sapper/air assault/sniper/pathfinder skill identifiers.. "

Army OKs Sikh Doc to Wear Beard, Turban

NEW YORK -- The U.S. Army will make an exception to a decades-old rule and allow a Sikh doctor to serve without removing his turban and cutting his hair, an advocacy group said Friday. Capt. Kamaljeet Singh Kalsi is the first Sikh to be allowed to go on active duty with a turban, beard and unshorn h...

Re: Military Books

I've been reading Dalton Fury's book: "Kill Bin Laden". I believe the author is a member here, but this just showed up on the shelves at my local Barnes & Noble. Not too bad a read so far.

Invictus: Understood. I knew posting this, I'd be opening a potential can of shit.

Beers would be fine. I'm confident my nephew is in good hands with his CoC and squad/platoon/company.

2/75 mentor sought

My nephew made it to 2nd Ranger Batt (been there 2 months now). Looks like most of the serious SP4 Mafia hazing has concluded and he's training-up just fine. Anybody in that AO looking to take a newly minted (not yet tabbed) Ranger under his wing, or at the very least, take him out for a beer on my ...

I hate spineless people! Can't fire somebody for fear of hurting soft feelings, but then dump work on others who already carry more than their own weight!

Re: Display your flag

My 5x8' flies 24x7. Because I can't lower it to half-mast, I bought an 8' black streamer that flies above the flag today. Bought one for my office flag as well - since lowering would put the flag in a tree.

Lest we forget..

Re: Movie Reviews

Took the family to see Transformers2 yesterday. Great special effects and action. That Megan Fox is one FINE little piece of eye-candy! Thought about seeing Inglorious Basterds, but couldn't tell if it was a serious war drama or a comedy. Sledge Hammer, you posted a review - which was it?
