I sent you a email about getting a option 40 before you ship. I see that your location is in Texas. If you are leaving from Houston meps have your recruiter contact me ASAP. If you are leaving from a different meps follow my directions in the email.
Good Luck,

Re: Decided on Opt40, now MOS choices.
You have to list all of your law violations no matter when they occurred. It doesn't matter if the records were sealed or not. As long as you didn't commit a felony in the 2nd grade you should be able to get a security clearance. It is very difficult to get a option 40 with MOS 35M. At my meps I hav...

It was alot funnier at the time but then again I was on my 6th beer. So I guess I will blame it on the beer and my poor sense of humor.

If you ever get a chance to visit the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, TX they have a large museum dedicated to the Corp of Cadets (ROTC) part of which includes several exhibits dedicated to General Rudder.

Re: Opt. 40 update
The 11C on your paper work is just a standard qualification statement on your reservation sheet. The reservation is not your contract. Your contract will clearly state you will be trained as a 11B or 11C. On a side note it also says you could be a 11M but I am pretty sure the Army no longer has 11M....

Re: Introduction-Joel
Joel, I am just floored that your recruiters in Dallas are just shit bags. I work at the Houston meps and I am pretty sure that kind of bullshit doesn't happen down here. I just don't get it at all. The recruiting mission is small and the Dallas battalion is usually very successful. If you have fami...

Re: Opt. 40 update
Unless you are physically at the meps to enlist the guidance counselors cannot look up jobs for you. It is impossible. So you will have to take a day off from work. Even if you can't get a option 40 enlist for 11X with airborne or just 11X. You can always have your reservation updated without you go...

Re: Opt. 40 update
starbuch6264, I did not look at your earlier post. So excuse the question but are you a high school graduate? I work at the Houston meps and we are as Ranger goon175 has stated seeing a lot of option 40s request system. If you recruiters cannot reserve the option 40 themselves then go to the meps an...

Congrats, maybe your son can knock out 50 push ups for goon175. Best of luck to him as he prepares to ship out in September.

Re: Opt. 40 update
Sir, it is so sad that the recruiters and the counselors at the meps your son is working with are making a easy situation difficult. I hope your son is able to obtain a option 40 contract. If you run into any more issues please let me know I will call the meps your son is dealing with and talk to th...

Re: Opt. 40 update
Like goon175 has told you all your recruiter needs to do is call the counselor at your meps and ask him to look and see if he can add a option 40 to your contract. You do not need to go the meps. I check daily for the recruiters that ask me. As a senior in high school you have a good chance because ...
