Re: Introduction - Stephen

Thank you Wazzle and Ranger Lunch. I live on Long Island, suburban area about an hour from NYC. Like you stated Wazzle, I've been told that it shouldn't be difficult to get a RASP slot at OSUT, but I will definitely do my best to obtain an Opt. 40. If I must wait a year, I will make the most of it ...

Re: Introduction - Stephen

Welcome Templar!! Your decision to work on becoming a Ranger is very focused. Good luck on all your will go through. My oldest son was told during OSUT that there were a few openings in RIP and he grabbed one. My youngest did get his Opt 40. Both made it through RIP with no problems and the rest is ...

Ranger Parents Forum

Rangers, and parents of Rangers. There is a Ranger Parents Forum within this forum page. It was started in 2004 and has over 700 posts since then. I was, and am still the moderator for it and apologize for the past few years that I have not been logging in. Parents, when your son finishes his RASP a...

Re: Introduction - Matthew

Just finished reading all of your posts Matthew. Very cool that you have been checking in since you were 16 years old. Good luck with everything you will be dealing with in the next weeks/months. One of my sons did not have an Opt 40 when he enlisted. During his 11X OSUT training, the group was noti...

Re: Long time member back just checking in

Things are going fine. One Ranger son lives 14 hours west of us and the other Ranger is moving 12 hours east of us. I assume we will remain here, in the center of both. How are y'all doing?

Re: Heart of A Ranger

If I recall, chapter 5 or 6 in The Reaper covers that time when Ben Kopp was shot. I found out something after reading that book that really shook me up. Then, reading Heart of a Ranger, which was much more detailed, I was totally shocked. I have purchased 6 copies of that book for my boys and my si...

Heart of A Ranger

I did some searching and did not find any posts about this book about Ben Kopp, written by Bill Lunn. Has anyone read this? This book and The Reaper by Nicholas Irving both cover the same battle that Ben was shot and later passed away. I attempted to add a photo of the book cover but it didn't seem ...

Re: Long time member back just checking in

I will check for intros from parents. It may take a bit of playing around to remember how to get them accepted to the Ranger Parent Forum, but sure I can figure it out.

Things have been good. I spend a lot of time at work on the computer, so I'll start checking back in. Things were really hopping a few years ago for sure.
