I say give him whatever punishment he doled out to subordinates that may have committed a similar offense.

Re: Current Rucksack

TT definitely makes great gear. Most of my pouches were TT I bought in early 2006 for the few months I was stationed at Lewis and used right up until I got out in 2012. Never had an issue with anything. Definitely a great company! That Malice pack looks awesome!

Re: Current Rucksack

I preferred the ALICE and that's what I used in Batt. We had the MOLLE ones in the big Army & in RS, but I don't know what generation they were or anything like that. The MOLLE ones are huge, but they just seemed overly complicated in a way. All the straps and crap bothered me and the plastic fr...

Re: Army Rangers memorialized with brick pavers

I never really knew Peney but man, Chris was something else. We had some good times on our journey around the Army from Ft. Lewis, to Germany and to 1st Batt. Hard to believe it's been over four years. The time goes fast.

Re: Son-in-Law Has Cancer

Prayers out to you and your family. Glad to hear they caught it early and things are looking good. Hopefully they stay that way.

Also, it's pretty damn cool that your son-in-law is a member of Green Day...

Re: Career Advice

What rank are you and what's your TIS? I'd be somewhat wary of a unit saying they'd release you after getting one of their Ranger School slots and you come back with your tab. Especially if there's a change of command around that time frame.

Her name is Layka and she is a badass, just like her handler. Natgeo did a expose type thing on the two of them. Here's a brief video: http://video.nationalgeographic.com/vid ... dogs-layka

Pants

I'm looking to pick up a few pairs of pants for some of my upcoming geology field trips out in the mountains for school. I wish I would've kept my Crye pants because they were incredible but there's no way I'm shelling out $200+ for them now. 5.11 is the only brand I can think of so I'm hoping other...

Re: Reclassing to 12B applying for Regiment

How does Regiment guys view other Rangers reclassing to 11B after completing Ranger School? Regiment, especially for prior service guys, is sink or swim. You have to check your ego at the door and understand you're going to be a private all over again until you prove yourself and eventually people ...

Re: Reclassing to 12B applying for Regiment

Sorry bud, the guy in my RIP class went up to 2/75 and I never spoke to him again, so I have no idea what he did up there. I can't think of any 12B's I met at 1/75 but I can say with absolute certainty that you won't be a dog handler as a cherry guy to a Battalion. Going out on a limb I'd guess you ...
