Speaking of BBQ
Went to visit the daughter in college this weeknd. Figured since we were 20 miles out we should go to one of the Meccas of BBQ. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss352/jurenax4/TexasApril09001.jpg The Sons Girlfriend, my daughter, my wife. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss352/jurenax4/TexasApri...

Re: Introduction
Getting my airborne physical this week then submitting my packet! My sergeant is optimistic that I'll be accepted once it's in, I have good PT scores, passed the NREMT and have a very high GPA so I'm hoping for the best! Got pretty lucky too because my first sergeant and commander don't allow soldi...

Re: Where is the Best BBQ?
Dobbs was the name. Now keep in mind, this was 16 years ago and I was eating the pork ( I gave up on Brisket outside of Texas at a young age). But the pork sandwich and the baked beans were good. This of course always reminds me of whenever my parents or Lisa's ( also a native Texan) would ever come...

Re: Where is the Best BBQ?
best $5 plate of BBQ ever, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Huntsville, TX. period. they started it as a fund raiser, and the town wouldn't let them quit. best sauce ever was taken to the grave by Randy Sims in Bryan, TX. Lulling City Market in Lulling, TX is damned good too. Jurena, I really ne...

Re: Where is the Best BBQ?
Being from Texas I have a slight lean towards Beef. That being said, Justin is correct IMHO, the mecca is the hill country and Lockhart has all the heavy hitters: Kruez Smitty's Blacks Luling is pretty good as well. The Salt Lick is real good, but I think its more about the experience of driving to ...

Re: Old(er) Ranger Gear
And here is the standard two ammo pouch / y harness look. I think I've posted this here before, this is the epitome of combat ineffective. We are moving to contact in England. The gunner of course is carrying nothing but the gun. Meanwhile, Cherry Jurena has everything else included for a two man gu...

Re: Old(er) Ranger Gear
In the photo from OJC, I had all the stuff mentioned on an H harness. I thought they were much more comfortable, they just never dried out. Instead of the 4 ammo pouches, I had 1 standard ammo pouch and one SAW pouch filled with 7 5.56 mags. So 10 + 1 total.

I can't remember the last time I was in the Mosh Pit. Guess the Houston Chronicle is about a day late on the story.Silverback wrote:http://forum.armyranger.com/viewtopic.p ... ll#p588447

Survivor of war loses dog to random violence
All it took was the gunshot fired outside his Walker County home to trigger training ingrained in former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, the lone survivor of a dramatic battle in Afghanistan in 2005. He did a sweep through the house. Checked on his mother. And bolted out the door, where he found dead his...

If I don't embarrass him, how will he ever know the depth of my love for him? My mom showed up in Savannah one day..and I'm already married I might add. Tried to "slick down" the barracks high and tight that was sticking up by licking her palm and rubbing what little hair I had. The...
