Re: SITREP -- FSHerbert
I particularly like how you grasped how tenuous being 'elite' truly is. It takes a lot to get there, and a lot to maintain it - medics more than most. Realizing that shit can be gone with a single screw up is generally a lesson most get after the fact. That's a key lesson for guys who may hold the l...

Re: Sitrep- Commissioned and on to IBOLC
Man, if you can succeed as an Infantry Officer you'll have some pretty good choices as a Captain. Plus, by then we'll be at war with them anyway, so you're ahead of the curve! Seriously, if you dedicate yourself to the Army like you clearly did as a student you will be ahead of the rest. Keep workin...

Re: 3-D Built Guns Worry Activist
Funny, my mind went immediately to this when I thought of the 'new' AWB. Opponents can't fathom that guns are dumb technology, most developed before electricity. My iPhone is a space tool compared to a 1911. You can make this stuff in your garage with a little research and some Home Depot tools. Eve...

Clownpuncher - what company were you in at RS? We were in the same class. Don't know if I've asked you this or not, just wondering.

Re: Obtaining a Slot - the Process?
I could tell some NTC stories about being forward of the FLOT and using a TOW platoon to take out an entire Tank Company, a helicopter landing a recon unit, and changing the landscape of the entire battle...but I won't. I will say this, though - when you discover that an enemy tank can't elevate it'...

Signed the agreement tonight. Be officially retired 1 Sept. (consultant for a year) Congrats on selling the business. That shit is harder than most people think. Did you get the value out of it that you wanted? I bought a business 2 years ago and am already looking towards the day I can cash out.

Re: Need Help for a Novel I am Writing
It actually isn't that convoluted. The Air Force did the whole 'Blue to Green' thing a while back and sent a few guys over to the Green Weenie. Inter service transfers, and guys with prior time in another branch jump all the time for various reasons. You could also have him still be a paid Army guy ...

Re: Army Ranger pt test scores
If you can do 100 PU and 100 SU by the 1:30 mark, you should be good. The run should be sub 12. This is on an easy PT test with plenty of rest. When the hard PT test comes, without plenty of rest, and with a grader counting every other PU and SU, you'll have a nice buffer. So, after your chest and a...

Re: sudden spike in run times..
You need to choose a day to do a 'LSR.' Long, slow run. It helps recovery, strengthens the legs, and prepares you for the 'Airborne shuffle' style of run you'll be facing. It is hard to dial it down, but you need to be able to run at a conversation pace. Given your distances, I'd go for 8-10 miles. ...

You forgot the zombies that arose after Jesus died:
Matthew 27:52 - And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose.

Re: Paleo
I got the books on the Paleo diet. Haven't pulled the trigger just yet. I think there's some merit to this and the whole 'eating to match your blood type' thing. I have always found (in RS especially) that when I 'crave' stuff it's fresh fruits and veggies or lean protein. Lo and behold - that's wha...
