When I was a Drill, we had a West Pointer who "hung" out for a couple weeks. I told him to stay the fuck out of my way, and stay the fuck away from my troops.
Take that for what it's worth.

Central Missouri. Cheap land, good hunting, good fishing. 10 hours to Dallas, 6 hours to Chicago.

Re: Pull up improvemnet?
I always found that doing dips (slow, controlled and deep) helped me. Alternate sets between dips and pull ups. Never try to max either, but do two more per set each week, 3 times per week. Kipping doesn't help - it's not allowed.

Re: update on enlistment
Patience and persistance. In your case, a bit more of the latter. Let your recruiter know of your timeline, and check for updates every week or so. Eventually, he'll run dry of 18 year olds, and actually do the work to get you what you want. Be firm, be polite....

If ever there was a more appropriate time for KH to give his patended four word essay - this would be the case.

Not sure if this has been posted before - I didn't find it on search. It isn't "new" news, but worth reading and looking at. 60177 C141 A Bit of military history you might be interested in seeing. C-141 Tail Number 60177 was the last of the 285 C-141's built by Lockheed to leave active ser...

Re: Preparing to Sign My Option 40
Can't imagine how a Drill Sergeant would react to improper addressing like that in OSUT! You need to lose your frivolous attitude. A Drill Sergeant is the least of your worries. Check yourself. If you want to be a 13F - then attention to detail should be your hallmark. Otherwise - men die. Sign onl...

Sorry Jenny - I misread your post. I thought you were looking for tips, not saying that you'd pass them on. Didn't mean to sound like a pompous ass! :D Jenny - I'm right handed/left eye dominant. A whole lot of people are "cross-eyed". It's actually very common. Learn to shoot with both ey...

Jenny - I'm right handed/left eye dominant. A whole lot of people are "cross-eyed". It's actually very common. Learn to shoot with both eyes open, and bring the gun up to your dominant eye, without tilting your head. Isosoles stance is the best for this - both arms punched out, weight even...

Re: CZ 75B
L - I was stationed in the Czech Republic for four years, so I'm pretty familiar with their line of weapons. I own a couple of CZs, but not the 75B. The 75 is designed as the standard issue Czech police/military weapon. I've fired it a couple of times. Very comfortable weapon, good trigger pull, acc...

Re: Ammo pouches up high on vests???
I advocate lower on the gear. Reason why is because when you strip a mag (and drop/throw) your hand automatically goes to the bottom of the rib cage. That's where your reload should be. Economy of motion. I don't trust my life to a $10 mag release button - I strip the mag out. Both pistol and long g...
