Re: Intro - 68wHopeful

Hopeful, don't let your recruiter or anyone tell you they can't update your reservation. If the option 40 is there updating a reservation takes less than a minute. It doesn't require a reno or anything special. I do it all the time in fact we updated 4-5 people just last week on their ship day to ge...

Option 40 Slots Update 17 June

Well they have opened up option 40 Slots. We enlisted 4 young men into Option 40 this morning. The two I did contracts with were both told to become members of this page. I hope the follow my advise. Their loss if the don't. Anyway if you haven't enlisted yet have your recruiters look at RECSTA 2014...

Re: Intro - Jacob

Jacob, the recruiter should have been way more professional. Most would be willing to answer a few questions. Anyway to answer your question, Option 40 is an enlistment option that is available (provided you're qualified) , it can be added to your enlistment contract, It is offered with several MOSs...

Re: Recruiter says no option 40 left this year

When a recruiter says no option 40's for the rest of the year he means the rest of the Fiscal Year (FY). FY 2014 ends 1 October. We should start enlisting people to ship in October (FY 2015) starting in late July or early August. SO bottom line is wait. Your recruiter will try to rush you (that is h...

Re: Introduction - Cody

If you had a medical waiver that was in fact denied you don't have many options. You can wait and re physical in 2 years or contact your congressman and request a congressional inquiry. Those must be answered within 48 hours. If you really have an on going issue with your wrist perhaps the Army isn'...

Re: Introduction - Angel

I would say that it would not be helpful to contact the 75th recruiting regiment. You are a civilian and need to go through USAREC. If your recruiters want you to wait till you get to meps thats fine. Just ask for what you want once you get to the meps. Let me know what day you will be at the meps a...

Re: Introduction - Angel

Welcome to the site. I see that you're trying for an Option 40 with a 68W. That will be tough to get, The fact that you're a college grad will help. My advise is to secure the 68W training. If the recruiter can get you the option 40 you'll be set. If not, when you go to the meps the counselor can tr...

Re: My Introduction

Ethan, bug the shit out of your recruiter about getting a Option 40 slot or at the very least an option 4 slot. He has had almost a year to square you away. All it takes is a email or phone call the the meps counselor. I do it all the time for the kids here in my area. Never quit and let me know if ...

Re: Adding Option 40 and USAREC Form 1035

Call your recruiter and ask them to call the meps GC and see if they will check and try to update your reservation. If it is on the system it would take them less than 2 minutes to update a reservation.

Re: Med Issues - PRK, Kidney Stone

Bill, I cannot say that your PRK will not require a waiver. I asked our medical NCO and he said so far every PRK applicant he has seen has had to have a medical waiver. I know this isn't what you wanna hear. Keep at it and don't give up. You may still be able to get an exception if you do in fact ge...

Bill, I'll check my notes tomorrow when I get to work. I'll let you know. The PRK shouldn't be an issue I just need to verify the waiting period.

Re: Adding Option 40 and USAREC Form 1035

The 1035 isn't required to change your reservation from option 3 to 40.If and when the training is available the meps Counselor can update your reservation. I do it as often as I can. The training may not be loaded yet because you're looking at a RASP class in FY 2015. Until DA loads the training yo...
