Re: Introduction: Bob

a. Consider this link: http://www.benning.army.mil/tenant/75thRanger/recruiting.htm b. What foreign language will you speak? Roger Ranger Jim. a. I investigated every MOS on that page, and decided I will go for 11B with Option 40. I will talk about it with my recruiter tomorrow, and I may join soon...

Re: Introduction: Bob

Great advice from Ranger Cams, if I said I did 200 pushups today that might sound like a lot, but if I did them in 20 sets of 10 it wouldn't really be that much. When you do the APFT use perfect form on every one, pushups, situps and pullups. Don't quit cause it hurts quit when you can't do anymore...

Re: Introduction: Bob

Real PT Test Results: (self administered) Sit-ups (2 minutes): 118 Push-ups (2 minutes): 105 Pull-ups: 24 2 mile-run: 15:10 I actually performed worse on my timed run, but just finished my first real outdoor run, taking the excellent advice from Ranger JD and Ranger Slowpoke. I couldn't find my pace...

Re: Introduction: Bob

Bobdub, Have you contacted a recruiter? Affirmative, Ranger Jim. Sgt. Lane, my recruiter seemed to be enthusiastic on the phone about getting me an 18X Special Forces option, when I told him I wanted to go special forces. After doing research, I realized 18X is what I ask for if I want a shot at be...

Re: Introduction: Bob

Roger Ranger Cams. I did not actually test with the APFT on my push-ups and sit-ups. I realize that my numbers are misleading by me not going off the 2 minute mark. My numbers go off me just taking my time, without stopping for one set until burnout. Jack Lallane could so over 1000 situps in about 2...

Re: Introduction: Bob

Roger Ranger Jim. I read your post. My hasty shortsightedness caused me to leave you out. That MOS page was very helpful. Thank you.

Re: Introduction: Bob

Roger, Ranger JD. Awesome advice on the running. A thanks to all of you; I Couldn't tell all of you Rangers in words how much I appreciate your wisdom. The mental advice about running through the pain is just what I needed to hear. With my job, in rough-in, I had to work beyond exhaustion many times...

Re: Introduction: Bob

Sir(s), thanks for the warm welcome. Just got done with my Monday PT workout. I added chin-ups today, and I went to burn-out on every set until I could do no more. Eventually I will mix things up further by adding incline bicep curls and chest press. Great advice on the cardio. I was just using a tr...
