I keep my Taurus PT 24/7 handy for now. I'm going to trade it in on a Springfield XD in a couple of weeks. I like the idea of 13 rounds of .45 ACP available in a single mag. The grip on the Taurus is a little bit small for my hands. The XD fits much better.

We jumped weapons exposed a lot during the 70's. I only had one problem which was the butt breaking off my M16A1 in a high wind jump. We used the M1950 on rare occaisions, wore the LBE under the chute, tied the weapon on the shoulder opposite the door to be exited, barrel up. Most of the time, it wa...

Re: ,

I 100% agree with this! People have a very short memory. 9/11 will be forgotten until the next terrorist attack . Sadly Americans are seen as people without the stomach for war let alone the $pocket$. I hope one day soon the U.S. will stop all foreign aid and let the world feel what it would be lik...

Re: ,

My 2 pennies for what it's worth. We lost this one the minute some asshole in Congress mentioned a timetable for troop withdrawals. The American people do not have the will or fortitude to fight an extended conflict. We can not win in the Middle East as long as we worry about be "politically c...

It's not a matter of "winning". Every Roman general from the time of the Republic through the Imperial period and 300 years of decline, knew it was a matter of fighting the Huns on the Danube rather than in the streets of Rome. Unfortunately, many of our contemporary generals aren't nearl...

Thieves, gangs, roving idiots : Target Practice. That it? Nope... the above mentioned are also a viable food source as they are made out of meat. If that doesn't fly they can also be used to fertilize the crops. You're gonna eat some AIDs or HepII infected asshole from the city over a fresh cut of ...

Riiiight. The majority of this thread is trying to figure out what the Brit said and we think it's a common language! Having worked with enough Brits now over here in the Box, I can tell you it isnt that easy to understand a bloody thing they say, let alone call it a common language. Just be glad I...

And a few more: When "breaking starch" did not mean reducing your intake of certain foods, but meant putting on a uniform that was so stiff it would crackle when your arms went into the sleeves. Khaki uniforms ( also starched). You can still remember the contents of a B-2 or B-3 unit. Whe...
