Re: Lactose Intolerant?
When I was growing up no one was allergic to peanuts. No one was lactose intollerant. Every other kid wasn't diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, ashmatic, or autism. Everyone is now a victim. I'm allergic to peanuts as are my kids. I fail to see how anaphylaxis makes me a victim. I just stay away from peanut...

Re: College degrees for junior enlisted
I hope that they don't cut TA. I got an AA with TA, CLEP and my AARTS credits and am currently working on a BA. (If I hadn't switched major programs 3 times I'd probably be done by now.) I always thought that the Army had pretty decent programs to help soldiers get their education. Hell, I'm in CISA...

Re: Get out of the Army, or go SF ???
Ultimately the decision is up to you. Like goon said, if you are looking to stay away from big army, there are other options than SF. Look into PsyOP, Civil Affairs, Counterintelligence (I'm in CI school right now and it's pretty sweet, PM me if you have any questions) and so on. These are the littl...

Are you trying to gather on us? Just kidding. Welcome here. Thanks for kind reception! I'd give you some of my dazzling knowledge of Russian, but all I know are some of the responses from Божественная литургия. As a child born in atheistic family I have to admit your superior knowing of Rus...

Re: Hunting
Just left Alaska, where I hunted Moose, grouse, ptarmigan, and geese. Never got around to bear or caribou (sigh).
Right now I'm in school in AZ, but it's temporary. After school it's on to Polk and I'm hoping for some good deer, pig, squirrel and turkey hunting. We'll see.

Re: Random thought of the moment.
Wondering if I can get a 1300 naptime written into our district's Safety Action Plan. We tried that in Italy. All of the squad leaders got together and told our PSG that, in the spirit of solidarity with our host nation, we should observe the national practice of riposo. It did not happen. So much ...

My kid
As some of you are tracking, my oldest boy is an active duty 11B who returned from his first tour in A-stan a few months ago. My second oldest is in his Senior year of HS right now. Well, son #2 went to MEPS last Friday and enlisted in the Army as an MP. He'll ship next July. He's always wanted to s...

Re: The .45%
Nice read.
The other day my brother asked me what I thought about the idea of the draft. I told him that I disagree with it for many reasons. On the other hand, I lament the loss of any ambition toward civic duty that characterized a lot of citizens in years past..
My generation sucks.

Marlin firearms
For my most recent birthday my wife and kids conspired between them to purchase exactly what I had been asking for, a Marlin 980SD .22 and a Marlin XL7 .30-06. I had been looking around at what to get for hunting once I move back to the lower 48 since all of the rimfires in my household belong to th...
