Re: After 100 Years, Are The Boy Scouts Still Relevant?

I have one Eagle Scout and one who is pending his board of review for Eagle. My wife is the troop treasurer, and I've taught several merit badges. The kids who go on to Eagle are those whose parents take an active role in Scouting. The others fall victim to the two evil scents: gasoline and perfume....

Re: defendmichael.com

That's what happens when we let Liberal judges get involved in the process. We need a standing provision which essentiall provides that "what happens in the military, stays in the military". Haul the accused into court under the UCMJ, conduct a court-martial if appropriate, sentence accor...

Re: Introduction

I work at the MP School and polled the audience.

The V5 identifier is "Military Police Investigator". It's a typo on the DD-214.

Re: Lyrics that mean something to you

Anything by Shinedown speaks to me. Especially from their first album and the emotional state I was in at that time. I'll cut/paste some here in a few, if this thread gets going. Otherwise - they're kept for me.

Re: Introduction

If you quit having run on sentences, and put together a couple of coherent thoughts, I'm sure that someone will be able to respond. Until then, most of us will just X out of your drivel, and ignore you.

And it was the day I was born. Four days later (20th) was the day Apollo 11th landed, and I was brought home from the hospital.

Re: $250 Stimulus Check For Retirees, SSI and Disabled Vets

In case you haven't read the fine print of that Act that "stimulates"... Military retired pay is going to be taxed at a lower rate now. For example, my federal taxes on my retirement pay (pension) went from around $75 to $13. Here's the kicker. It all counts as income at the end of the yea...

Re: Favorite Desert/Hot Dry Weather Boot?

I wear Oakley's with a 6 inch cuff (the military style is 8 inches). Some people have durability problems, but I have two pair that I alternate for the past 18 months, with no problems. Wear them almost every day at work. Very comfortable, easy break in, good tread. I also use asorbothane inserts.

Re: DCLT vs. Airborne school for an ROTC Cadet

When I was a Drill, we had a West Pointer who "hung" out for a couple weeks. I told him to stay the fuck out of my way, and stay the fuck away from my troops. Take that for what it's worth. That means you failed to train the Cadet as the Army intended! Not when he came in expecting everyo...
