Welcome to the site, John. I appreciate your work (and wish I could afford it). I'm also sorry about your brother and appreciate his service and sacrifice for all of us.

A moderator will be by, I'm sure, to welcome you officially. I hope you stick around.

Have you read Anthem? I like Rand and never read that one.

That list is bullshit. I can think of a ton of books better than the top 25. Just cause an author's dead doesn't mean they're suddenly 'great' and just cause Oprah reads it doesn't make it literature (I'm talking to you Toni Morrison).

John is a Master Knifemaker who served in (I believe) 3/75. His brother was KIA in Iraq. If you read 'Not a Good Day to Die' by Naylor, his brother is MSG Bob H. who is likened to Davy Crockett. The nation lost a good one when he died.

A marathon is 2 races. A 20 miler and the last 6.2. My wall always seems to hit at mile 22. Since I know that, I can plan for it.

Why not run the CMM in Nashville? We just ran it on Saturday. That'll give you a whole year to train. Plus, its local.

Welcome to the site young Private. Good luck in getting to Regiment. I believe you are going to have to become an NCO before you can go to ROP and import into Regiment. Lately there seems like there are a lot of FOs on the site so they can give you more guidance. Thank you Ranger BMF175, I'm lookin...

Old Tommy T. His best ever was at pre jump for a BN operation and he was going through the brief: "Towed jumper procedures-if you have become a towed parachutist, maintain a good tight body position and immediately activate your canopy release assemblies using the hand assist method". I t...

Gavin, I remember you well. My back twinges with pain recalling that jump. Terrible Tommy T was also called 'BADUPSA' by old Jeff W the 2 PL. It stood for 'Balls, Dick, Ass and Pussy' as in what he smelled like after PT. First day in the platoon, Tommy T comes out of the shower with his towel on and...
