Re: Sign language interpreter at Mandela memorial a poser ?

Read something earlier today, apparently hand-flapper dude was part of a group in 2003 that killed two men accused of stealing a TV, by hanging tires around their necks and setting them on fire. He was declared mentally unfit to stand trial back then. Now, I don't like Slappy, but I am pretty worke...

Re: Movie Reviews

Saw a foreign film, Indonesian, called "The Raid: Redemption" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f6f_kfp1Z8 It had some of the most intense fight scenes I have seen in a long time. This is one of those action movies I will see several times. Have not seen this yet, but looking forward to it....

Re: Badass of the Week

There is nothing fair about war, war is hell. I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation. War is hell. William Tecumseh Sherman This is ...

Re: Cargo jet that landed at wrong airport takes off on shor

The Atlas Air 747 Dreamlifter used a runway that is far shorter than it normally requires for takeoff after, an airport spokeswoman said, engineers calculated that the takeoff would be safe. I wonder what would have happened if the engineers said you couldn't lift off? Put it on a giant flatbed, li...

Re: Possible Oswald-CIA connection ?

The 16 degree down angle from right to left if the Oswald bullet hit Kennedy in the head would have ended up coming out through his lower face, not blowing out the right side of his head. Donahue covers the ballistics very extensively. I am just saying don't discount reading another take on the ass...

Re: Possible Oswald-CIA connection ?

The book " Mortal Error" and the TV program "JFK The Smoking Gun" give compelling evidence the third shot fired that hit Kennedy in the head came from an AR15 fired accidently by a secret service agent in the car following Kennedy. It is worth a read. Sent from my DROID RAZR usi...

Re: 30 years ago today... Operation Urgent Fury

This is my last “30 years ago today” entry. Though there was still sporadic sniping, the main combat was over after the third day. We stayed at the doctor’s house another night, finding weapons caches and more intelligence documents. When our Battalion commander, “Mad Jack” Hamilton met with Schwarz...

Re: 30 years ago today... Operation Urgent Fury

October 28, 1983 I woke up on the morning of October 28, wet, tired and hungry. We continued our pattern of march… stop… search houses. We were looking for any enemy still left, but they had disappeared. There were rumors that the PRA and Cubans had drifted into the jungle and were going to do a Vie...

Re: 30 years ago today... Operation Urgent Fury

October 27, 1983 Afternoon At the Holiday Inn I dropped off my rucksack, gas mask and flak jacket. I kept my LAW rocket and put my journal in my cargo pocket. We would not see those rucksacks again for three days. We continued down the road but when Bravo Company came to the crossroads where I had t...

Re: 30 years ago today... Operation Urgent Fury

October 27, 1983 Morning Before the sun came up my sniper section was told to return to the company perimeter. My scope had so much condensation in it that there was a puddle of water. I couldn’t see anything out of the fogged lens, so I unscrewed the end caps off and dumped out the water. It didn’t...
